Developing and producing custom in-wheel motors for your application

We offer complete customization of the vehicle drive-train based on your requirements by finding the optimum combination of parameters of the Elaphe motor design. If requirements are not known we can perform a feasibility study to suggest you a set of solutions that you can choose from.
In order to select the in-wheel motor that will best meet your expectations we use our own software developed for the comparison of key Elaphe™ electromagnetic design parameters. We carefully consider the best parameter combinations to choose the motor that best suits the customer’s needs.
Once the parameters are set, the details regarding the dimensions of all motor parts, the electromagnetic properties, the heating/cooling behaviour, the controller requirements and other properties have to be calculated. We offer the complete design of the motor that can be fitted into your vehicle and all standard components. Moreover, we can produce a prototype series in a short period of time as well.

Industrialization of Elaphe in-wheel motors

Already identified your favourite Elaphe motor? Just let us know. We can jump start a small to medium series production line with Elaphe in-house developed production machines or provide support to large series equipment manufacturers for high volume production. We also offer great flexibility for small modifications of existing solutions.

Developing custom inverters and electronics

You do not have to worry about the inverter and motor compatibility. We have our own development of electronics, but we can also use some of the commercially available off-the-shelf products. The central control of all individual motors is also already well taken care of. You can use the Elaphe Propulsion control unit and control all propulsion devices via CAN. We are supporting several inverters, BMS, Charger and HMI devices. You will also get a touch screen for setting propulsion parameters and diagnostics.

Developing and integrating a complete propulsion system

If you have to develop the complete propulsion system you can ask us for assistance. We work with different component suppliers to have the best quality components (inverters, BMS, charger, batteries, 12 V network …) integrated in the system, achieving safe vehicle operation.

Vehicle development and conversion with Elaphe propulsion

Do you need to make the complete vehicle? We can integrate the propulsion into your new vehicle or convert an existing internal combustion vehicle. Our experience includes conversion and development of electric 2-wheelers, cars, buses, trucks and special vehicles including light aircraft and boats. Independent 4-wheel control, intelligent traction control, one of the most efficient technologies for energy regeneration, custom interface, great visual display with 3D graphics, homologation, fast charging, extensive road and off-road testing in different environmental conditions… All this and more is possible with Elaphe.

Partnering in research projects

Let us know if you have some interesting ideas on possible new fields of cooperation with the in-wheel motor technology. We are quite successful in this area and we see high potential in working in synergy with strong, knowledgeable and experienced partners. Even if you have some ideas not related specifically to in-wheel motors, but also to the autonomous driving or space applications. We are also open for the cooperation in EU projects like Horizon 2020 or others, as they present a great way for co-financing some advanced research and for establishing new partnerships.
